Learn

Protos is easiest to learn as a small set of mechanisms that compose: objects, slots, delegation, execution contexts, closures, Futures, and Actors.

Choose the path that matches what you need:

  • Getting started — build the current reference implementation, run a program, and open the REPL.
  • Programming guide — understand the mental model behind bindings, delegation, closures, control flow, concurrency, and I/O.
  • Tutorials — follow small progressive executable programs.
  • Examples — find task-oriented cookbook programs.

The website is a presentation layer, not a second language authority. Its language material is derived from the exact Protos source revision locked by protos-source.lock.json; the specification in the Protos repository remains normative.
